Serving San Antonio Since 1957

The San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) is a nonprofit organization that provides youth prevention services, adult recovery support, education and information resources. We serve nearly 80,000 people in Bexar County and 28 surrounding counties in South Central Texas each year and have partnered with many community stakeholders and organizations to make our community safe and healthier. Our mission is to empower our community to live healthy lives by providing prevention, intervention, and recovery services for children and adults; our vision is a safe and thriving community.

IMPORTANT:  Due to the current recommendations surrounding COVID-19, the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) is open but with limited access to office visits by the public. Appointments must be made in advance and pre-approved to receive services in the office.  All services will continue to be virtual thru August 3rd. SACADA staff is accessible virtually or by phone and will provide all services remotely. Telephonic and online recovery support is available Monday-Friday, from 7 AM – 8 PM. We also offer online support groups Monday-Friday, at 2 pm and 6 pm. For more information, continue to call our office at (210) 225-4741 or contact us by email at info@sacada.org

Our Peer-to-Peer Program

At SACADA, we provide recovery coaching and support services for those with or at risk of alcohol and drug problems by providing our clients both online and face-to-face options to connect with a peer recovery support specialist.

Our Recovery Coach staff supports both adult males and females with the goal of increasing the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery from substance use disorders. Our coaches can help individuals establish linkages with community organizations that can assist them with accomplishing their long term life goals. Coaches provide role modeling and mentoring as a way of guiding individuals to find their own pathway to recovery. For more information, please call 210-225-4741.
